A pregnant migrant with coronavirus has given birth on board a helicopter while being transferred to a hospital in Italy.

The woman was staying at a migrant holding centre on the small Italian island of Lampedusa – off the coast of Sicily.

“We are all in this together,” Mr Trump said as he met local police chiefs. “Kenosha has been ravaged by anti-police, anti-American riots, they have been hit so hard. Law enforcement has really done a great job working with the national guard but we’re here to show our support for Kenosha and Wisconsin — Wisconsin’s been very good to me.”

The midwest state was one of several that narrowly flipped to Mr Trump in 2016, helping him to the White House, and is seen as a key battleground in this year’s election.

‘With this, it is certain that Alexei Navalny is the victim of a crime,” Chancellor Angela Merkel said. “He was meant to be silenced and I condemn this in the strongest possible manner.”

“There are very serious questions now that only the Russian government can answer, and must answer,” Merkel said, who described what happened to Navalny as “the attempted murder by poisoning of one of Russia’s leading opposition figures.’

Greece has recorded a sharp rise in cases, with more than 100 cases a day in August, its worst month since the outbreak of the pandemic. A record 293 infections were reported on 29 August, and cases overall jumped by more than 50% in the course of the month to surpass 10,000.

On Wednesday authorities announced that an asylum seeker had tested positive for the virus in the vastly overcrowded Moria camp on Lesbos, raising alarm among aid agencies.

“You don’t see them marching and you don’t see them on the streets, but what they want is they want great police force, they want people that are going to keep them safe, where their houses aren’t broken into, where they’re not raped and murdered,” he said.

One of his own supporters, a 17-year-old male, is accused of shooting three protesters after arming himself with an AR-15 assault rifle while in Kenosha. He has been charged as an adult with two counts of first degree homicide and one count of attempted homicide.
