South Africa’s mining union has announced it has won a court case against the government that will force authorities to impose strict guidelines on mining companies to protect workers against Covid-19.
The union said in a statement on Facebook that it was “truly elated” with the court’s ruling on Friday. “Now the lives and livelihoods of mineworkers can be protected,” South Africa’s Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) president Joseph Mathunjwa said.
The president began Sunday morning by tweeting out his approval rating, showing he had 47 per cent of support among voters in a Gallup poll conducted in late April.
He wrote: “Going well despite the Fake News!”
There were similar scenes closer to home in March, when a group of goats took over a Welsh town.
A herd of goats were spotted running wild in the seaside town of Llandudno in north Wales.
Reade says she made an official complaint about the incident to the Senate and to Biden’s top aides, all of whom say they do not recall the incident.
