As airlines begin suspending their flights in and out of China as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, foreign nationals in the country are becoming increasingly anxious about whether they will be able to leave if they decide they want to.

On Wednesday night, a man, understood to be a Chinese national, was taken to hospital along with family members after falling ill at a hotel in the centre of York.

The first cases of the virus to be diagnosed in the UK come as 83 Britons on an evacuation flight from the Chinese city at the centre of the outbreak are due to land in the UK.

More than 80 Britons who were trapped in the city of 11 million will be quarantined at a UK military base for 14 days after a repatriation flight lands on Friday afternoon.

Mr Trump’s homemade epithets for each of the Democratic candidates were reeled off in quick succession. Joe Biden, the former vice president, was “sleepy Joe”, Elizabeth Warren was “Pocahontas”, a jibe at her claims to Native American heritage, and Mike Bloomberg, a diminutive fellow New York billionaire, was “mini Mike”. He exaggerated the pronunciation of Pete Buttigieg’s surname (“Boot-edge-edge”) and called Bernie Sanders “crazy”.

Mr Trump, 73, was speaking during the closing stretches of Senate questioning in the impeachment trial, and it was little surprise that he spent a significant part of the speech railing against the procedure. “We’re having probably the best years that we’ve ever had in the history of our country, and I just got impeached. Can you believe these people?” he asked. “No, that’s not going to work. Watch.”

It is thought Leone gave the order after preliminary test results indicated that the couple do not have coronavirus, but was told to wait until full results come back from a hospital in Rome before letting anyone go.

‘Shout to the commander Leo,’ he added, according to Italian news site Repubblica. ‘If you let someone down, you do so at your own risk.’
