A tour guide who died in the White Island eruption said he feared the volcano would blow in a video taken by a tourist on an earlier trip. Hayden Marshall-Inman was among 47 people on the volcano off New Zealand when it erupted on Monday, killing at least six.

The attacks were initiated by members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, Aung San Suu Kyi told the court as she displayed detailed maps of Rakhine state showing, she claimed, where the first assaults began in late 2016. Myanamar’s security forces responded to that violence, she said.

Once internationally feted as a human rights champion, Aung San Suu Kyi, is leading Myanmar’s delegation to the court in The Hague. As state counsellor, she is in effect the country’s prime minister.

Here’s Chris Riotta to explain what yesterday’s announcement means for Donald J Trump. The reason for the president’s fire and fury was of course yesterday’s articles of impeachment announcement by the House Democrats.

It says: “As many of you may know our amazing, funny, larger-than-life hairdresser, confidante and dear friend Dez Ginns has suffered a traumatic and life-altering event and is on life support in hospital.”

The page adds: “Dez is in a coma, supported by a ventilator to help him breathe. He is being cared for by the incredible and compassionate ICU staff at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where he is expected to remain for an extended period.

A sixth person died yesterday as the toll of the eruption at New Zealand’s most active volcano became clear. Nine more are missing on the island, presumed dead, all Australians. It was too dangerous for rescuers to land on the island yesterday but reconnaissance flights found no signs of life.
